It was recently brought to my attention that I have been neglecting my blog. Due to life circumstances, this is correct. I do sincerely (with much sarcasm!) apologize.
But yes, life has been quite interesting the last four or five months. Let’s see: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, then Jim’s Birthday… Oh yes. And the engagement. And the wedding planning. And the house hunting. And the unfortunate health of family members. And one must not forgot about not one, but TWO vehicles with water pump issues. And when you think nothing else could happen, you find out that your horse decided to visit the horses in the next field over and injure himself in the process (how does ONE horse manage to find a t-post and step on it just so to break it and bruise himself?). And family drama. Never forget about family drama. Every family has it!
If anyone tells you planning a wedding is easy. Let them believe so – they will find out during their planning process that they were wrong (as I was). I mean, I never thought it would be EASY, but I didn’t really realize just how much goes into every little thing. I am so tired of making decisions. Color of this? Color of that? Texture? How will this work? Or that? But if you go with this color, is that thing that you already got going to match? Food? What kind? How much? How elaborate? Or simple? Bubbles? Or no bubbles? What about if it rains? What about mud? Can we do this, there? Or that, here? Argh! What time for this? Placement of that? Really, we are asking THOSE kind of questions, NOW? And we haven’t even begun planning the actual ceremony yet. No pressure, right?
But in all honestly, things are pretty easy to plan, when I have time to plan. I actually quite enjoy getting everything together for the wedding, but I just have so many other things going on that I have to be judicial with my time. And honestly, I don’t like that.
That brings me to the house hunting. Jim and I will be SO glad when this is over. We put in an offer on House #4 yesterday. We hope this is House #last. But who knows. Then comes all the additional stuff that goes with the house hunting. The home inspection was the reason we didn’t go with House #3. That’s all right, though - House#3 we settled on; we were alright with the house, but neither one of us was really excited about it. House #1 our offer was rejected – the other offer was accepted. Kinda funny that the house is STILL empty and the new potential owner is still in limbo. Sucker. We didn’t want that house anyways. Moldy basement. House #2 still makes me a little sad because I really liked the house – just HATED the location. And when I decided I could deal with the location, the price dropped quite a bit, and then, even though our offer was for full list price, someone else got it instead of us. Win some, loose some. Really hope everything works out with House #4.
But yes, I haven’t had much chance to just sit and do the stuff I really like – including updating my blog. Hopefully once things settle down a little bit, I can refocus some priorities!
Until then… My posts will just be few and far between. :)
