Yay! I was able to spend time with my Poppa on Father's Day. I've not seen him for a long while, so it was quite nice. I dearly miss spending time with him.We had plans to visit at the barn for a while and see Snipes and then catch a light meal afterward. After messing with Snipes and letting him graze for a LONG while, we decided to get a move on. On a whim, I decided that we should go to a town west of the barn and see if we were lucky and could find some sort of diner or bistro to have yummy sandwiches at.
When we arrived at the town, I was quite befuddled and a little bit irritated to see that there appeared to be some sort of festival going on. My immediate thought was that my quiet, peaceful meal with my Poppa wasn't going to happen. Then I saw some shiny older cars with their hoods up... That meant only one thing! Car Show! While I, myself, don't seek out car shows on my own, I was certainly tickled that he and I were able to accidently find the car show and walk around. Poppa used to LOVE car shows.

There were some really nice cars - it seemed like there were around 150 vehicles (or more). Everything from current Mustangs and suped up pickups and Corvettes, to old Mustangs, Chevelles, Camaros, an old milk truck, a Mac truck, a WWII Jeep, a Studebaker, many beautiful 60-something stepside Chevy pickups (a Poppa favorite), and even a Ford Model T (my personal favorite of the day). We got to see a really fancy 2009 Corvette (don't ask me for details because all I know was that it was fancy and the sticker price was something like 128K). And it was so neat to see that fancy
new car AND the Model T - with it's wooden body frame. Of course, there were many many more cars. I wish I'd taken more pictures. All I got were cell-phone pictures of the fancy Corvette and the Model T...

I was certainly grateful to be able to share some of his day with him! Thank you, Poppa! :)
I am so glad you have done this. I miss you all and this is a way to keep in tuch with what you like.
