Spring...

I saw my first daffodils and forsythia of the year yesterday on my drive to clay class. Spring: my favorite season. There are various reasons for my favoritism – daylight is longer, days are warmer, and layers of clothing become less.

Everything just comes ALIVE. Every day is filled with something new – the trees start getting frothy hues about their limbs, promising pink or white flowers, spring green budding leaves. Each week a new bloom pokes its head out of somewhere. First are the crocuses, then the daffodils and forsythia. Next will be the crab apples and Bradford pears and chokecherries with their halos of soft color. Once the trees open up their green leafy buds, then the lilacs and irises will begin showing their purple and blue colors. No two days are the same.

I cannot wait until I drive through the neighborhood and all the trees are in full bloom!

What is your favorite season, and why?  Is it the crispy warm colored fall with all the harvest fruits and vegetables?  Or the pale beauty of winter and each delicate ice crystal?  Or do you prefer the watermelon-filled two-piece dip in the water summer?

:)
