Aaaachoooo.........!

Yes, it is starting to become THAT time of year again.  You all know it – the time when someone around you (and even, You!) is doing the spring time tissue-dance of alternating sneezing and sniffling and eye-tearing fits.  And if not the tissue-dance, it’s the constant resisting of the urge to tear eyeballs out of one’s head or cut off an offending stuffy (or runny) nose.  Or, if you’re one of the special ones, a combination of all the above maladies will make every day a wonderful bonanza of bodily annoyances.  And if you are one of the very special few, you get to do the tissue-dance ALL YEAR LONG.  Yay!  No sarcasm at all intended there…really.

I’m one of those lucky few who get to experience allergies all year long.  It’s not fun.  It’s annoying at its least, and aggravating at its most.  Thankfully, I can dope myself up pretty well on prescription meds, but there are times during the year when I really want to rip my eyes out of my head.  Today is one of those days.  These darned peepers itch!  And man, my nose is ultra-sensitive today as well.  Normally I don’t smell well.  Hey!  Not me, myself – I shower daily!  My NOSE doesn’t smell well.  I have to get the ol’ sniffer right into that flower to get a small sense of how it smells.  And when I’m out in the field, I have to almost literally touch my nose to the dirt to see if it smells like chemicals or not.  Talk about trying to be a brown-noser, the natural way.  But no, today my nose has decided that it can smell everything!  The soaps in the Ladies’ Room, the reed diffuser in someone’s cube, the perfume I generally don’t notice, people’s food, the cleaning chemicals.  All day my nose has itched…inside, my sinus cavities itch.  Argh!

So, audience, how many boxes of tissue do YOU go through in a week?  Have you stocked up yet on your spring allergy-tabs?  Do you know of some old-wives tale allergy magic which I’ve not yet tried?  Or should we all just live in bubbles indefinitely?

:)
