Catching up...

Wow, so apparently it's been a while, a LONG while, since I last posted. My apologies. I've been quite the busy gal for a few weeks!

At work I had a project come up fast that was going to take me to West Virginia for some geology work. Come to find out, Jim has a good friend who works for the same company who would be doing the drilling for us. So we worked our schedules so that Jim and I went up the weekend to meet up with his friends before I was due on site.

Jim and I left Virginia Friday after work and arrived in the mountains around midnight. The next day we went to a great waterfall park and accidentally caught a car show. I did not have my camera with me at the waterfall (I was ill prepared for once!), but Jim did have his for the car show...

My favorite vehicle was the tow truck.
So after the fun-filled weekend with Carol and her hubby, Mike, Jim left to go back to VA while I stayed behind for work.

Monday was okay until I lost my camera. I was able to make a trip to Wally-World and replace it, but it was still a sad day (although on a side note, I LOVE my new camera). Tuesday was good until the drill tooling got stuck and the water pump died. Wednesday wasn't as good as Tuesday and became worse as there were more problems with the drilling rig. Thursday sucked – the tooling really got stuck and there was tooling that got broke. The next picture shows two pieces of tooling - the one on the right is supposed to be straight like the one on the left, yet it is not... And this is steel, not anything soft.
Friday, well, it was the end of a not bad week but not good week. The one rig only drilled 3 feet where the second drill rig did great with 100 feet. The last thought of the day for the drillers was the surrender flag.
My last thoughts of the day were the nice trip home on the 'pretty road' and the rainbow...
